Hisanori Matsui

Dr. Hisanori Matsui received his Master’s degree from Osaka University through stem cell research. He then earned his PhD in Biology from the University of Tsukuba in 2015, where he conducted pioneering functional analysis of Kisspeptin.

In 2002, Dr. Matsui joined Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited. Over his 22+ years at Takeda, he gained extensive experience in novel drug target discovery, Phase 2 clinical studies, and external partnerships. Since 2025, Dr. Matsui has been working at Ciconia Bioventures Inc., a company dedicated to accelerating the creation of a Drug Discovery Ecosystem in Japan.

Dr. Matsui’s therapeutic areas of expertise include Oncology, Neuroscience, Gastroenterology, Immunology, and Reproductive Endocrinology.
