Chemical Probes Hackathon

The Chemical Probes Portal team has been working with industry and international organisations since 2023 to organise 'probe hackathons'. During these events, groups of PhD and Masters students meet with experts from academia and industry to discuss the concept of chemical probes and how to critically evaluate chemical modulators such as inhibitors using the literature and information provided by the Chemical Probes Portal. Together, experts and trainees review chemical probes and allowing students to gain hands-on experience in evaluating the characterisation of these compounds, distinguishing well-characterised compounds form compounds to be avoided. Due to the positive feedback by the participants, the Portal is now regularly organising these events.
