R. Kip Guy

Kip Guy studied natural products chemistry and completed his PhD with K. C. Nicolaou in 1996 at the Scripps Research Institute. After a 2 year postdoctoral fellowship in cell biology with Drs. Joseph Goldstein and Michael Brown at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, he established his independent laboratory at the University of California at San Francisco. In 2005 he was promoted directly to Professor of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology at UCSF. Shortly thereafter he moved to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital as the founding Chair of the Department of Chemical Biology and Therapeutics. He is the author of over 170 papers and book chapters and 17 issued patents.
