Muge Sarper
Institute of Cancer Research
Muge did her PhD in Barts Cancer Institute with Prof Louise Jones. She studied how microenvironment-derived cues influence breast cancer progression and established 3D models of pre-invasive breast cancer. Then she moved to Imperial College London for a bioengineering postdoc. She worked on pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) mechanobiology and generated bio-mimetic 3D tools to study cancer cell-stroma interactions and biophysical properties. Muge then joined ICR as a postdoctoral fellow and developed PDAC multicellular models compatible with phenotypic high throughput screening. Her role evolved into a project coordinator role and building bridges between different disciplines. She joined Chemical Probes Portal in September 2024 as a Scientific Coordinator. Muge is responsible from co-ordination of funding applications, scientific papers, hackathons and other activities promoting the awareness and use of the Chemical Probes Portal.
