Clarence R. Hurt

Dr. Hurt has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. In 1996, he joined the Small Molecule Drug Discovery group at Amgen in Thousand Oaks as a research scientist. Since then, he has served in positions of increasing responsibility at Pfizer, Plexxikon, and ChemoCentryx. In 2008, he was the director of chemistry at Prosetta Antiviral and was promoted to vice president of Chemistry & Drug Discovery in 2010. Dr. Hurt holds over 16 patents and has published or presented over 30 papers and posters. He obtained his PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Michigan, a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry from Haverford College and completed post-doctorate studies in synthetic organic chemistry at the University of California at Berkeley.
