Alisa Crisp studied Natural Sciences at the University of Durham, conducting research with Professor Martin Cann on the role of CO2 in cell signalling and with Professor Hannah Smithson at the University of Oxford on eye movements. Alisa has a Master’s degree from Imperial College London in Science Communication. Alisa has years of experience communicating difficult concepts in engaging ways, including as Commissioning Editor for the journals Breast Cancer Management and Lung Cancer Management, through exhibitions at the Natural History Museum, London, in community engagement projects with CeNCOOS, the Central and Northern California Ocean Observing System, and at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre. As Science Training and Communications Officer for the Chemical Probes Portal, Alisa coordinates the community outreach and communications for this resource to enable scientists and researchers to better find and use the best quality chemical probes.
